PRESIDENT'S PROFILE CIQS - Prairies and Northwest Territories
Michael Gabert PQS
Michael Gabert is the President of the CIQS Board of Directors for the Prairies and Northwest Territories Chapter, and has more than 10 years of experience in the field of Quantity Surveying.
He is a Regional Director of BTY’s practices across the Prairies and leads the firm’s professionals teams on mandates for Cost Management, Project Monitoring, Technical Advisory, Independent Certification, Payment Certification and Project Delivery services across all market sectors.
He has considerable experience advising clients and the CIQS membership on the trends and forces shaping the local markets in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and the Northwest Territories, including construction materials and labour pricing and availability, the impact of legislative and building code changes, the pipeline for government and public-private partnership funded infrastructure projects, and residential, commercial and mixed-use real estate development.
Prior to being elected President of the chapter, Michael served as the Treasurer and then as the Vice-President. He routinely participates in knowledge sharing events and panels, and is a strong proponent of supporting the CIQS members in meeting future demands of the profession related to changes in technology and areas of expertise.
Currently living in Saskatchewan, Michael has called the prairies home his entire life while working on projects across Canada, the United States and more recently, in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, as part of BTY’s global consultancy for property and infrastructure development.
